A sequel to Five Nights Out, the feature documentary entitled We’re All Happy: Before there was the internet, there was the underground revisits the LA alt-punk scene of the early 90’s and explores the ways in which economics, emergent technology, 80’s punk rock and the city itself shaped the scene as well as the ways in which it had a lasting influence on the wider culture. A lingering question exists throughout many of the interviews — Is the very concept of underground culture a relic of the past, given the tremendous access provided to anyone and everyone by the internet?
